About Deirdre Heney
Deirdre Heney is a candidate in Dublin Bay North in the upcoming General Election. She was re-elected to Dublin City Council for the Clontarf Local Electoral Area last June. She was elected on the first count and succeeded in getting the second highest Fianna Fáil vote in the country. Key issues of concern to Deirdre include caring for dementia, provision of affordable housing, an teanga Gaeilge, animal welfare, the speed of climate change and minority sports facilities. She is a qualified solicitor and previously worked at Eames Solicitors. Deirdre was called to the Bar in 2008 following which she practiced as a Barrister for six years. Deirdre is currently employed by Fianna Fáil as a Legislative Drafter and was previously employed by the Party as a Parliamentary Assistant. She began her career working for Aer Lingus and Aer Rianta in Dublin Airport.
