Dublin City Council’s public consultation on Capel St/Parliament St traffic-free streets initiative
Councillor Heney wishes to advise constituents that Dublin City Council management has begun a 3 week public consultation period on the ongoing Capel St/Parliament St traffic-free streets initiative.
The City Council wants to hear from anyone who has a view on the traffic-free weekend evenings, and anyone who would like to express a view on what options should be further explored for both streets.
During the consultation period, the City Council will be consulting with all key stakeholders including the emergency services and disability groups.
A report outlining potential options for the future of both streets is available to view online at https://consultation.dublincity.ie/traffic-and-transport/feedback-on-traffic-free-trial-at-capel-street-par/.
Following the period of public consultation, a report will by prepared for consideration by the elected members. Detailed planning of the preferred option will then be advanced.
Any option which is advanced will be subject to further consultation and any necessary statutory requirements.
This initiative is part of a wider programme led by the Office of City Recovery and was planned and implemented by the Traffic Department in Dublin City Council.
