Public Consultation Opens for the Dublin City Development Plan 2022-2028 today
Councillor Heney advises constituents that the Draft Dublin City Development Plan 2022-2028 is now on public display. The plan is a strategic policy framework document that sets out priorities for the city. It includes policies and objectives that will guide the future development of the city over the next six year period and beyond. The Draft Plan is on public display from today until 14 February and submissions can be made until 14th of February 2022.
Dublin citizens, community groups, businesses, organisations and children (or groups that represent children) are invited to share their views, thoughts and wishes for the city, by taking part in the second stage of the public consultation process. This engagement will ensure that a shared vision to guide future development for the benefit of the city and all its citizens is reflected in the final plan.
The Development Plan will guide the spatial direction of future development and regeneration in the city in compliance with National & Regional Policy. It also includes Housing Strategy and Retail Strategy as well as a wide range of other important topics. It sets out policies on conservation, archaeology, and the protection of the built heritage as well as green infrastructure and recreational amenities in the city, culture, sustainable transport provision, climate action, economic development, and sustainable environmental infrastructure. The Draft Plan includes detailed zoning maps.
Submissions should be made through Dublin City Council’s online consultation portal at www.dublincitydevelopmentplan.ie. A submission can also be made by post to Development Plan Team, Planning and Property Development Department, Dublin City Council, Wood Quay, Dublin 8. The public consultation period is open until 14th of February 2022.
